ABOUT YOUR ORGANISATION

The South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS) is the independent peak body for the non-government health and community services sector in South Australia. For nearly 80 years, we've been a powerful voice for people affected by poverty, inequality and injustice, and for the organisations that support them.

We advocate, collaborate, and lead to make meaningful change. Join our passionate, small team making a big difference across the state.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We're seeking a motivated Project Officer (0.6 FTE, 3-year contract) to support the delivery of the People's Health Voice (PHV) program, funded by SA Health.

In this role, you'll coordinate community engagement, governance, and project activities that strengthen participation of diverse communities in health policy, planning, and system improvement.

You'll work closely with community members, stakeholders, and partners to ensure lived experience informs more equitable and inclusive health services across South Australia.

Role responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development and delivery of SACOSS advocacy campaigns through the planning, development and execution of campaign communication content and materials that motivate engagement and action
  • Managing SACOSS's digital channels, including social media, website and email communications
  • Tracking and reporting on key campaign and SACOSS channel reach and impact
  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to prioritise the voices of lived experience

ABOUT YOU

You're an organised and collaborative professional with a passion for community voice, health equity, and social justice. You're confident working with diverse stakeholders and supporting inclusive, meaningful participation.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in community engagement, participation, or co-design approaches
  • Strong research, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholders
  • Understanding of issues affecting people experiencing disadvantage and health inequities
  • A commitment to the values and mission of SACOSS
