About Us

Global Engineering & Construction (GEC) is a proudly Australian-owned business delivering engineering, construction and maintenance services across the energy, infrastructure and resources sectors.

We partner with some of Australia’s leading organisations to deliver complex projects safely, efficiently and to the highest standard. Combining the capability of a national contractor with the agility of a privately owned business, we offer our people the opportunity to make a genuine impact while building rewarding careers within a growing organisation.

About the Role

Global Engineering & Construction (GEC) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to play a key role in establishing and growing our presence in the Northern Territory’s expanding onshore gas sector.

This is a unique opportunity to join the business at the ground floor of a significant growth phase, taking ownership of major gas infrastructure projects across pipeline, gathering network and facility developments. Working closely with senior leadership, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects from planning through execution, ensuring safety, quality, commercial performance and client satisfaction remain at the forefront.

While based in either Brisbane or Darwin, this role will require regular travel to project sites and offers the opportunity to help shape the future direction of our Northern Territory operations.

With purpose, respect and a driven mindset, you’ll contribute by:

· Lead the successful delivery of oil & gas infrastructure projects, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule and within budget.

· Manage project performance, contractual obligations and key project KPIs.

· Oversee project resources, subcontractors and stakeholder relationships to drive successful outcomes.

· Develop, implement and maintain project management systems, processes and reporting frameworks.

· Foster strong client relationships and maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction.

· Drive a positive safety culture across project teams, ensuring compliance with company and client requirements.

· Support business growth initiatives and contribute to the expansion of GEC’s Northern Territory operations.

· Provide leadership, coaching and direction to project teams across multiple work fronts.

What You’ll Need to Thrive

· Degree-qualified Engineer or equivalent relevant industry experience.

· Significant experience delivering oil & gas infrastructure projects within Australia.

· Strong background in pipeline construction, gas gathering systems, gas processing facilities or related upstream/midstream infrastructure.

· Proven Project Management experience on projects valued at $10M+, or extensive Senior Project Engineering experience ready to step into a Project Management role.

· Demonstrated experience working in FIFO or remote project environments.

· Strong commercial acumen, including contract management, negotiation and stakeholder engagement.

· Excellent leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.

· Ability to adapt and perform in dynamic project environments with changing priorities and schedules.

Why Join GEC?

· Be part of a growing business establishing its footprint in one of Australia’s most active energy regions.

· Opportunity to influence and shape the future of Northern Territory operations.

· Join a high-performing leadership team with strong growth ambitions.

· Competitive remuneration package aligned to experience and capability.

· Flexible location options based in Brisbane or Darwin.

· Ongoing career development and progression opportunities as the business continues to expand.

If you’re looking for an opportunity to help build something significant while delivering major energy infrastructure projects, we’d love to hear from you. Apply now and become part of GEC’s next phase of growth.
