HVAC Project Manager

About the Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for estimating, planning and delivering HVAC projects from end to end. You will work closely with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard.  Success in this role requires someone who can build strong relationships, motivate and coach and experienced and enthusiastic team, solve problems, and take ownership of project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct site inspections to scope works and prepare project estimates.

• Prepare, present and follow up proposals and quotations.

• Review supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts and quality requirements.

• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve project outcomes.

• Issue purchase orders and letters of intent for equipment and subcontractors.

• Develop and manage procurement and delivery schedules.

• Regularly attend project sites and client meetings to monitor progress and quality.

• Ensure adequate labour resourcing and accurate completion of site documentation.

• Monitor and manage project budgets, forecasts and financial performance.

• Compile operation and maintenance manuals and project handover documentation.

• Coordinate warranty and defect management activities.

• Maintain strong client relationships and identify opportunities for future work.

• Uphold MSR's safety, environmental and quality standards at all times.

• Valid driver’s licence.

About You

We are looking for a practical and driven individual who enjoys working with people and delivering results. 

You may be an experienced HVAC Project Manager or a trade-qualified professional who has successfully managed projects, supervised teams and is ready to take the next step in your career.

To be successful you will have:

• Experience within the HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical services, or construction industry.

• Demonstrated experience managing minor works and projects from start to finish.  

• The ability to read and interpret construction documentation, including drawings, specifications, and schedules.

• Experience reviewing contracts and project scopes.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Suit of products including Excel, PowerPoint, and other programs relevant to the role.

• Strong organisational and planning skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.

• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Highly Regarded

• Trade qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning or a related mechanical trade.

• Project management experience within HVAC or mechanical services.

• Estimating experience.

• Knowledge of Australian construction and WHS requirements.
