Salary Range - $124,895 - $132,341 plus superannuation (depending on skills & experience)

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the City of Mitcham in a newly created role as a Project Portfolio and Assurance Coordinator, supporting enterprise-wide project governance, coordination and assurance activities..

Working closely with executives, project managers & business areas, you will ensure Council projects, strategies & masterplans are aligned, effectively governed and delivering outcomes. You will also support reporting, coordinate project assurance, monitor portfolio performance, and drive continuous improvement across the project management framework, tools & processes.

This is a varied & influential role where you will work across the organisation to strengthen project delivery capability, support effective decision-making and promote a collaborative project delivery culture.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in project governance, coordination or assurance within a complex organisation
  • Experience working within industry, local government or a public sector environment
  • Experience contributing to or operation within an enterprise PMO
  • Strong understanding of project management frameworks & delivery methodologies
  • Proven experience reviewing project documentation & advising senior stakeholders
  • Proven experience working alongside peers to influence, coach and mentor to ensure high quality deliverables
  • Highly developed written & verbal communication skills, including reporting to executive & governance bodies
  • Ability to build effective relationships & work collaboratively across multiple business areas
  • A proactive, adaptable & continuous improvement mindset
