The opportunityWe are seeking an exceptional Project Director to lead a major construction project at the highest level.This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for project delivery, commercial performance, HSE outcomes, and quality standards. You will provide clear direction to the full project team, ensure alignment across delivery and commercial functions, and maintain the leadership discipline required to deliver major project outcomes on time, on budget, and to a high standard. Key responsibilities Project leadership and deliveryLead and direct the full project team to achieve program and milestone targets and ensure on time delivery of the project.Provide overall leadership to the Construction Operations Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager, and Engineering Lead.Manage client and principal stakeholder relationships at project level, ensuring issues are addressed promptly and professionally.Chair key project governance meetings and ensure strong project controls, risk management, and reporting disciplines are in place. Commercial and HSE accountabilityAccountable for EOT management at project level, including approving EOT submissions and engaging with the commercial team on strategy.Accountable for HSE performance and quality assurance on the project, driving a culture of safety and quality at all levels.Provide approvals for major subcontract procurement decisions and review project budget reporting.Support the Project Manager in head contract variations and claims management, providing strategic direction as required. Requirements15+ years’ experience in project management or senior project leadership within the construction industry.Demonstrated delivery of building projects valued at $100M and above as Project Director or Senior Project Manager.Strong commercial, contractual, and HSE management capability across major projects with a sound understanding of industry requirements and head contract and subcontract obligations.Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent.Proven track record in client relationship management across complex, multi-stakeholder projects.Strong project leadership capability with the ability to align and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams.Credible with clients, subcontractors, and senior leadership.Accountable leader who sets high standards and holds the team to them, remaining calm and decisive under delivery and commercial pressure.
