Cannon Hill - Brisbane

Are you ready to lead real, on‑ground biodiversity outcomes at scale?

About Ausecology

Ausecology is a specialist ecology, rehabilitation and environmental consultancy delivering efficient, practical and high-quality outcomes for clients across development, infrastructure, government, not‑for‑profit, resources and renewable energy sectors. As one of the few consultancies offering a full end‑to‑end suite of ecological and biodiversity offsetting services, we support projects from initial feasibility, impact assessment and approvals through to on‑ground management and monitoring—ensuring environmental compliance with maximum efficiency while protecting Australia’s unique natural resources.

Our multidisciplinary team includes experts in ecology, botany, fauna handling, bushland restoration, GIS, mine rehabilitation, environmental approvals and ecological planning. We work on diverse projects at all scales for major infrastructure and threatened flora translocations, to large‑scale restoration programs and the development of innovative offset property solutions—creating meaningful conservation outcomes across Australia.

Along with our parent company Niche, we’re a team of over 200 people across the east coast of Australia. We’re not just a great place to work — we’re a connected and inclusive community of talented thinkers and doers who are constantly innovating, learning, and striving to excel in everything they do.

The Opportunity

Ausecology is seeking a Environmental Project Manager to join our Land Restoration division, playing a key role in the delivery and management of a well‑established portfolio of offset properties subject to long‑term restoration, monitoring and compliance obligations.

The role includes responsibility for leading project delivery, coordinating scope, timelines and inputs, and producing high‑value technical outputs such as Biodiversity Management Plans, Property Management Plans, and offset monitoring and compliance documentation.

The position is well suited to an experienced project manager with practical experience designing, implementing or evaluating land management and restoration actions, and who can apply that knowledge to real‑world bushland management and ecological restoration challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of a significant land restoration project portfolio, managing scope, program, resourcing and budgets to ensure efficient, client‑focused outcomes.
  • Apply technical expertise to shape and deliver high‑impact documentation, including Site Maintenance Plans, Property Management Plans, Operational Delivery Plans, Burn Plans and other specialist deliverables.
  • Manage subcontractors and assets to support safe, efficient, high‑quality field delivery.
  • Support proposals/tenders and help grow and strengthen key client accounts.
About You

You are an experienced environmental project leader with the capability to manage complex land restoration programs and deliver high‑quality, compliant outcomes across diverse and sensitive landscapes.

  • 7+ years’ experience in project delivery and technical leadership (ideally land restoration or compliance‑focused programs)
  • Strong stakeholder management and client engagement skills
  • Confidence in mentoring and developing others
  • A current driver licence and willingness to travel as required
Why Join Ausecology

We offer:

  • Flexible work arrangements to support work–life balance
  • Mentoring and development with industry‑leading experts, plus a professional development allowance
