The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Electrical Design & Project Engineer with 2+ years of experience in DC power system design and project delivery. The successful candidate will support the design, testing, commissioning, and delivery of DC power solutions for telecommunications, utilities, transport, industrial, and critical infrastructure applications.

The role focuses on low-voltage DC power systems including 24V, 48V, and 110VDC systems incorporating rectifiers, switch mode power supplies (SMPS), battery banks, distribution systems, and renewable energy integration.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering & Design

  • Design DC power systems including 24V, 48V, and 110VDC applications.

  • Perform load calculations, battery autonomy calculations, and charger/rectifier sizing.

  • Design and select battery systems including VRLA, AGM, Gel, and Lithium-ion technologies.

  • Design and select DC distribution systems, protection devices, and monitoring systems.

  • Size and coordinate AC and DC protection devices including circuit breakers, fuses, isolators, and surge protection devices.

  • Perform cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, fault current calculations, and protection coordination studies.

  • Design small-scale solar PV systems integrated with DC power and battery systems.

  • Prepare technical specifications, equipment schedules, and engineering documentation.

Produce and maintain electrical drawings including:

o   Single Line Diagrams (SLD)

o   DC Schematic Diagrams

o   Wiring Diagrams

o   General Arrangement Drawings

o   Cable Schedules

o   As-built Drawings

Project Engineering

·       Coordinate project activities from design through commissioning and handover.

·       Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

·       Support procurement activities and equipment selection.

·       Monitor project schedules and engineering deliverables.

·       Assist with installation planning and site coordination.

·       Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).

·       Support commissioning and troubleshooting activities.

Client & Site Engagement

·       Attend client meetings and technical discussions.

·       Conduct site inspections, audits, and surveys.

·       Prepare technical reports, commissioning reports, test records, and handover documentation.

·       Provide technical support during installation and commissioning activities.

·       Support customer training and project handover requirements.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

·       Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design and project engineering.

·       Experience with DC power systems, rectifiers, and switch mode power supplies (SMPS).

·       Experience designing and sizing battery systems for backup power applications.

·       Knowledge of 12V, 24V, 48V, and 110VDC power systems.

·       Understanding of AC and DC protection principles and equipment selection.

·       Experience with electrical drafting and AutoCAD.

·       Ability to read and prepare electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills.

·       Confidence in attending client meetings and site activities.
