About the Role

Reporting to the Switchboards Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the design, drafting, and coordination of low voltage switchboard projects.

You will ensure designs are accurate, compliant with Australian Standards, and delivered in line with project timelines, while maintaining effective communication with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.

This is an office-based role working closely with engineering, production, procurement, and sales teams to support end-to-end project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Drafting

  • Develop detailed custom switchboard designs including GA drawings and layouts

  • Produce accurate, high-quality AutoCAD drawings

  • Interpret client specifications, single line diagrams, and project requirements

  • Ensure designs comply with AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 61439

  • Maintain drawing accuracy, quality, and consistency

Project Coordination

  • Manage projects from design through to completion

  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and sales teams

  • Liaise with clients for design clarification and approvals

  • Support procurement with BOM accuracy and material selection

  • Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met

About You

You are an experienced switchboard designer who can hit the ground running and take ownership of your projects from day one.

You bring strong technical capability, attention to detail, and a practical, solutions-focused approach. You're confident communicating with both internal teams and external stakeholders and thrive in a collaborative environment.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Strong experience in custom switchboard drafting and design

  • Advanced AutoCAD proficiency (non-negotiable)

  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and single line diagrams

  • Strong understanding of AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 61439

  • Proven ability to manage or coordinate projects

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

  • Trade qualification (minimum Electrical Fitter)

  • Current CPR certification

Desirable:

  • Experience within a switchboard manufacturing environment

  • Familiarity with modular switchboard systems

  • Previous project coordination exposure

  • Electrical Fitter or Mechanic licence

  • Open manual driver's licence

  • Construction White Card
