About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major BESS and high-voltage substation project for a EPC Contractor based in Sydney. This is a senior leadership role with genuine growth opportunities within a well-established organisation. You will take ownership of full project delivery from mobilisation through to commissioning, managing internal teams, subcontractors, and client relationships while driving performance across safety, programme, cost, and quality. Occasional travel to site will be required.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager

• Lead end-to-end delivery of a BESS and HV substation project, maintaining accountability for safety, schedule, budget, and quality outcomes.
• Develop and manage project execution plans, programmes, and reporting frameworks.
• Build and lead a high-performing project team, providing clear direction and support across all disciplines.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier performance, including scope definition, procurement, and contract administration.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, maintaining strong relationships and managing expectations throughout delivery.
• Identify and manage project risks, issues, and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies as required.
• Monitor and control project budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting.
• Ensure all works are delivered in compliance with relevant standards, specifications, and safety and environmental regulations.
• Drive a strong safety culture across the project team and supply chain.
• Contribute to business development and pursuit activities, leveraging project delivery experience to support future bids.

What You Can Bring as the Senior Project Manager

• Minimum 7 years experience in project management, with a focus on HV infrastructure delivery.
• Demonstrated experience delivering HV infrastructure projects at 132kV or above is essential.
• Background in electrical engineering or substantial experience managing electrical scopes on major infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record delivering BESS, substation, or comparable HV projects from mobilisation through to commissioning.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing contracts, budgets, and subcontractor performance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills at a senior level.
• Experience working within Tier 1 EPC or contractor environments.
• Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline preferred.
• Ability to travel to site occasionally as project requirements dictate.
