AustEx is a manufacturer at the forefront of the land-based exploration industry, specializing in the design, construction and maintenance of drilling rigs and related equipment. We are proud of having developed novel designs to improve the safety, reliability and production of drilling operations around the world.
We have recently moved into our new purpose-built facility in Forrestfield to improve our manufacturing and engineering capability. We are now looking for another person who can bring their existing experience to help move the
company forward another step.
Our core services include conceptual design, research and development, drafting, engineering, spare parts sales, manufacturing, maintenance and repair.
Established in 2009 and 100% Australian owned, AustEx has a reputation for excellence, which is evident by the relationships we’ve developed over the years. We’re now a key player in the mining industry with well established projects and a large pipeline of work with major clients in the industry.
As an organisation, we place a great deal of importance on our company culture. We’ve worked hard to create a relaxed, flexible, and therefore quite enjoyable working environment. We have a tight-knit team, with many of us having worked together for over 10 to 15 years.
And now we’re looking forward to inviting our next team member to join us. We’re looking for a Project Procurement Officer to join our team.
Main Job Tasks.
Key Responsibilities
· Receive purchase requests from the Project Manager and review transmittals for ordering requirements
· Raise purchase orders for all required materials and services including laser cutting, steel, machining, and stock items as per job transmittal
· Compile fabrication job packs, including materials, drawings and job cards
· Track and follow up all orders, ensuring materials are delivered on time
· Verify job pack completeness before releasing to Fabrication
· Coordinate with suppliers and workshop to resolve missing or delayed items
· Check completed fabricated items against drawings prior to next stage
· Coordinate coating activities in line with project requirements
· Update transmittals and internal registers to reflect job status (Ordered, Received, Blast, Finished)
· Coordinate completed parts sent to stores ready for fitting.
Skills required.
- Microsoft products including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- MYOB or similar.
- Forklift ticket (desirable but not necessary).
- C-Class car license.
Standard hours expected are 7am - 4pm with overtime available. Saturday work will include morning tea provided by the company.
Full time position with overtime available and quarterly profit share.
